Weather Journal

Biggest chill in many months

On Wednesday, Roanoke's high temperature only reached 29 while the low made it to 19 before midnight. The last day for a sub-freezing high or a low in the teens was Feb. 16 of last year, when the high was 32 and the low was 18.

Roanoke's low this morning fell to at least 15 and the high is struggling toward the freezing mark. Meanwhile, Blacksburg fell to at least 12 this morning and is only in the mid 20s at early afternoon.

Hard to believe we could be in the 60s again early next week.
