Team Quarles with their first gobblers of the spring

Carson and Norma Quarles got their spring gobbler season off to a great start.

Norma scored first on a 20-pounder, called in opening morning by her husband and trusty guide.

Three days later it was the guide’s turn when he put the hammer down on this 20.5-pounder.

It is a special season for the Quarles couple, who were hunting on their land in Botetourt County. Norma was diagnosed with cancer nearly two years ago, but after intensive treatment and a lot of prayers the cancer remains in complete remission.

I suspect these won’t be the only two birds this crew bags this season.

Congratulations! It is great to see friends follow up on their passions in life. In your case you cover all aspects of wild turkey hunting – where to hunt, how to hunt, training of dogs, nature conservation and the list goes on. Keep it up.
