Coming Up

In the market for a new home? Don’t miss the Open House guide in the paper Saturday and Sunday.

Fittingly, a picture of a Jackson River trout

Kelly Steger of Catawba sent in this great shot this morning of her 3-year-old daughter, Avery, with a little brown trout Avery caught over the July 4 weekend.

I thought the timing was pretty fitting as the Jackson has been getting a lot of my attention the past couple of days.

In fact, I just started writing my story on the looming court battle between some anglers and the landowners who are suing those anglers for trespassing. It will run Sunday.

I don’t know where Avery was when she caught this fish (and a big fallfish). I’m assuming she had permission!
