Pete Campbell with a great bobcat

Pete Campbell of Hardy was turkey hunting with his cousin, Carl Barker, in Bedford County on Dec. 15 when he spotted this big bobcat while on the way back to his house.

Campbell hurried inside, traded his shotgun for a .270, and made a 200-yard shot on the cat from his porch, using the railing as a rest.

That’s a great shot, and a great cat to show for it.

Interesting how this older post is suddenly generating comments from the animals rights crew. Apparently the link is getting passed around out there. Hey, keep the traffic coming!

And, Pete, in case you are reading any of these, I trust you’re not sweating the criticism.
