In the coyote shot, the happy hunter on the right is 10-year-old Reid Taylor, who killed this great coyote in Bedford County this fall. That little kid with the awesome expression is 6-year-old Graham Taylor.
The shot was one of several sent in by their dad, with whom I share a name. This Mark Taylor, however, is a regular killer of trophy bucks, unlike me. Some of you probably recognize the name from previous discussions about topics such as managing for trophy bucks, and judging antler size. The shot below is of the great buck he killed on a farm he owns in Iowa. Taylor had the buck on trailcam (he sent in a shot but it’s acting funky when I try to resize it, so I’m not posting it) and he and his buddies figured it would score in the 150s, Boone and Crockett. It actually taped out just a hair over 163. That’s a big buck.
