Hunter Oliver bags a gobbler; How about you?

Hunter Oliver (right) was hunting with Larry Sullivan on the gobbler season opener when Sullivan called in this great gobbler for his buddy.

The bird weighed 20 pounds, had a 10.5-inch beard and 1.25-inch spurs.

Sullivan sent a note late last week saying he had already tagged out himself, so obviously he’s having a good season.

How about everyone else? Did anyone brave the wind and rain this morning?

Great bird Hunter, would love to put a bead on that bad boy. Congratulations dude.

Larry? Tagged out?!!!! You da man!!! Looking forward to seeing those photos.

I still can’t close the deal on a bird. Every time I hit the woods, I run into a situation that I have no clue on what to do. Keep in mind this is my first year turkey hunting. Day 1: 3 birds gobbling and I got impatient and moved to soon. Day 2: Had 6 gobbling and when I called they never responded, again I got impatient. Day 3: 1 bird gobbling, called in a hen but he never showed up behind her. Plus too I was running late for work, had to go! But all in all, I absolutely love this turkey hunting.

Hunter/Larry… Congrats on the great hunts!

JR… I’ve been waiting for an update from you! Hang in there… it will all come together and you’ll think “Wow, that was easy!”. Okay, maybe you won’t think that, but it will happen.

    Good luck all!

Great looking bird guys….am green with envy. The season is getting away from me and looks like I may not get a stab at one this year…too many family commitments and such this spring. Good to see some of you are finding success though. Did get close to bagging a young gobbler this morning with the windshield of my SUV on the way in this morning… noticed he had a 5 or 6 inch beard as he flew across the hood. Probably as close as I’ll get…
