The hunter who got this shot also got two others. One is a head-on view, but is blurry. The other is a side view. Because the buck has so much junk on its bases it’s hard to count points. But I think it has a minimum of 15 scoreable points. It also has a double main beam on the left. And a split g-3 on the right. It also doesn’t look to be really old deer. Maybe just 3.5?
What do you guys think?
Here’s another question. The hunter told me this is a pretty small piece of property. If you had a trailcam picture of this buck on your smallish hunting property, what would your hunting approach be? Would you be out there on the archery season opener, praying hard, then leave it alone until the pre-rut? Or would you hunt it pretty hard through October in the hopes you’d eventually see the deer? Or would you stay away altogether until the rut?
