Cowards don’t deter the future, they only perpetuate more cowards. Jayden’s accomplishment while hunting only make me try harder at 50 years of age.

I’m starting to not like this sight because of the negative comments that the Roanoke Times allows on here. Especially with the kids! It’s awful and it ruins such a great moment. i hope “PRESERVE NOT DESTORY” HITS ONE OF THESE “DEFENSELESS” ANIMALS WITH THIER PRIUS…THEN MAYBE THIER ATTITUDE WILL CHANGE. ONE OF THESE DEFENSELESS ANIMALS TOOK A YOUNG GIRLS LIFE THIS PAST SUNDAY. IMAGINE IF THERE WERE NO HUNTERS HOW MANY CARS AND LIVES WOULD BE LOST .

Actually, Preserve not destroy, part of the “enjoyment” of wildlife is occasionally killing and eating it. It’s called the natural order, and humans are part of the chain. We are fortunate to have skills and smarts to sometimes win the battle with our quarry, which you would know, had you had ever hunted, are hardly “defenseless.”

That said, among humans there are hunters and gatherers, with some of those gatherers doing their “gathering” simply by going to the store and pulling out their money. We are proud to be hunters. If you are proud to be a gatherer, good for you.
