In the market for a new home? Don’t miss the Open House guide in the paper Saturday and Sunday.

Mark Taylor (the other one) with his Virginia monster

Here’s a shot of the Mark Taylor from Roanoke who actually kills big bucks. Mark has property in Iowa, where corn-fed monsters are not unusual.

But this is a Virginia deer. He killed it on Nov. 6.

He was supposed to connect with some college buddies for an afternoon hunt but was running late. So instead of arriving late and messing up their hunting area he went to a fairly small plot in Bedford County.

Looks like he made the right decision!

I’m happy for Mark, but sure wish this Mark Taylor would see a deer like this out there on the hoof!

Holy cow! Congratulations! I would just like to see a deer like that one time in Virginia. Pretty sure they don’t exist in the national forest where I hunt.

Does Virginia have check in points? I would like to know how much this buck weighed. Thanks, Deb

Thanks for the congrats….its a good thing I went that evening because I am struggling just seeing deer since. Hunted some in Patrick Co. near Meadows of Dan and the hemorhagic (sp?) disease has riddled the herd in my area…..no deer…very sad. Anyway, I am not gonna complain about this yr….i’m very happy with my Bedford Co. buck….for those who want to know, that is a very flattering pic of the deer….He was really nice but no Boone and Crockett by any means….beams were a little short and he didn’t have a ton of mass….regardless, 5 yr buck, 180lbs live weight, gross boone and crockett score of 157″…..needless to say I am pumped….good luck everyone
