“First I would like to say how thankful I am to get out into the woods and see what nature has to offer us ! It feels so good to get away from every day routines to enjoy nature at its best !
During muzzleloader season , I saw 10 or so does , passed up a spike and a six pointer, hoping to see something a little bigger in just a few days that I had to hunt . I enjoyed watching them . Then came rifle season, during which I had three days to hunt. I saw this six pointer, which I shot to put meat in the freezer, not knowing if I would get another chance at a buck .
On Thanksgiving morning I set out for a quick morning hunt before I had to leave to meet family and friends. I walked about 300 yards from where I parked my truck and sat on a ridge . At first light three does came out in front of me. I just sat , watched and waited. About an hour later I heard leaves crunching behind me. It was the eight pointer . I have never hunted on Thanksgiving before and believe me I am very thankful for this hunt.”
Congrats on a great season and a full freezer!
