Well-rested Maggie Quarles tags her first deer

My good buddy James Quarles had the highlight of his season during a late-November deer hunt in Botetourt County, during which his daughter, Maggie, shot this great doe.

Maggie is quite a basketball player, but she’s not only skilled on the court. James said Maggie made a perfect shot with her youth-model .243 and the deer dropped on the spot.

I had to include the second shot to show that Maggie, who is in eighth grade, is a true hunter. Who among us doesn’t think a ground blind is about the perfect spot for a little nap?!

Congrats to James and Maggie!

Nice going Maggie!. Naps in the blind are absolutely permitted. As long as Dad wakes you up when action starts to heat up!

Congratulations and good shooting! The second pic looks familiar…I have a 7 year old daughter who occasionally shares a blind with me.

speaking from experience, naps in the woods are the most peaceful and restful ones…. Congrats on your hunt and time spent with Dad.
