Check out Larry Lindsey’s weird seven-pointer

larry lindseyFrequent Wild Life “hero” Brandon Lindsey sent in these shots of another regular hero, his dad, Larry.

Here’s Brandon’s story about this funky deer:

“My dad killed this crazy seven-point during rifle season while we hunted in Pulaski.

I was hunting in a holler and he was on the ridge above me. Nothing was going to get by!! At about 7:30 a four-point came cruising up the holler and went up the ridge to dad and we let him walk. Then, around 8:35 a.m. I had a deer come up the holler but i never saw more than a leg, or eye ball or horn at one time as he stayed in the pines. But I could tell it was a nice buck. I alerted my dad with a quick text “Big buck Coming.”

Two minutes later I heard the crack of his .308 and called and asked if he got him??? His reply…..”Did I Shoot???” Hahahahaha! “So i jumped out of the stand ran up the hill to check him out and it was not what I had expected. He is a little odd to say the least. We have trail cam pics of him from 4 and 5 years ago, so he is a mature deer. The pics from then were when he was a spike and then 4pt, the right side always canted forward/down.

This year has been a year of many challenges……..positive and negative. But it balances out when we get to spend time in the woods with great friends and family. The hunt that me and my dad shared that day was our “on top of the mountain triumph moment” of the year. GOD IS GOOD!”

Very interesting rack. Guessing something happened while he was in velvet? Wonder if last years antlers were like that as well, or if this was just a natural deformity?

There is no better time in the world than a father and son hunting
together. Good job and great memories.
