Nathan Hampton with his super Roanoke County buck

Hampton buckNathan Hampton couldn’t find anyone to go hunting with him on a short-notice the final day of the early muzzleloader season. So he went on his own, and didn’t get into his stand until 4 p.m.

That’s all the time he needed.

hampton rackThis bruiser eight-pointer showed up 15 minutes later.

Hampton had trailcam pix of another big buck, but he wasn’t about to pass this one up. He ended up never seeing the other buck and was wondering if anyone knew the fate of the distinct buck.

Nathan: Congratulations on the late season trophy. It seems like most of the bucks I see late season have already lost their rack.
