A reader sent in this shot of a great eight-p0inter that he’s been tracking around his place for a couple months. I could be mistaken but it looks like this buck might have some piebald tendencies, too.
Pretty cool to see it in this stage of getting rid of its velvet.
When bucks are in velvet it can be difficult to judge mass. There’s no difficulty here. This is a heavy-antlered beauty.
Seeing this picture this morning has me eager to go check my cameras! Of course my focus right now is on urban archery spots so I’ll be happy to get pictures of some big does. In fact, if I get shots of bucks that could actually blow the spots because I don’t want to get in there and educate the bucks before the general archery season opens.
