There’s an interesting piece (not by me) on the front page of today’s Roanoke Times. According to state forestry and wildlife officials, this year’s acorn crop is poor and it is causing wildlife to behave differently than when there’s a good acorn crop.
You might be wondering, “Hasn’t Taylor been writing about that for months?” When I heard someone was working on this, I wondered the same thing.
But, really, my coverage has been in hunting-related stories, and the thinking is that it’s a topic of interest to non-hunters. (I totally agree.) Apparently only hunters read my hunting stories. (I can kind of see that, too!) At least we can know that we’ve been ahead of this story for a couple months!
