Dennis Campbell of Waynesboro died after battling a lung infection. You can read his full obituary from the Staunton News Leader here.
Dennis was ubiquitous in the outdoors and conservation community. He most recently was working as director of field operations with the Virginia Deer Hunters Association to help build the organization’s presence in Western Virginia.
He previously was a senior regional director with the National Wild Turkey Federation and was the executive director of Ward Burton’s Wildlife Foundation.
Importantly, he was one of the driving forces behind the establishment of Virginia’s special youth deer hunting day.
For Dennis, sharing and promoting the great outdoors wasn’t just a job. It was his passion. I think the smile on his face in this picture pretty much says it all.
We’re going to miss you, friend.
