While the fishing may be good in Florida, we've got a ways to go before the bass bite picks up around here. But things usually get going pretty well by mid-March with the pre-spawn so start getting that tackle readey. |

Big bass are biting -- in Florida

Karen Thomas of Daleville caught this big bass Tuesday morning while fishing on the St. Johns River in Palatka, Fla., during a retreat with fellow Norfolk Souther employees. BacklashNice catch! The area She caught that fish has some monster bass and bluegill and crappie.
If you like bluegill and crappie that's bigger than your hand this is a good place in Florida to catch them.
Yet as the season warms up for Virginia anglers I would like too spark interest in something that is quite a phenomena in European countries and California called Float tube or Belly boat.
If you don't have space for a boat this is ideal for you. You can equip one for as little as $400 to a $1000.00
And as time progress I will give as much information as possible, ultimately I will challenge any belly boater to a biggest fish tournament this summer.
If you are not certain what I am talking about check out Youtube for the videos and one of my favorites "Belly Boat Hustle".
Come on what do you have too loose this summer.

JohnHey Mark,
Ive heard good reports of guys slaying the largemouth at SML on jigs and spoons. Fishing down deep, in the channel and main lake points, is producing many bass upwards of 3 pounds and a few tipping the scales at 5+lbs.
They are there, just takes some new tactics.
