Mandi Lazenby with a nice eight-point buck

mandi%20lazenby.jpg
Proud dad Allen Lazenby of Salem sent me this shot of his 16-year-old daughter, Mandi, with a nice eight-point buck Mandi killed on Thanksgiving morning. They both thought the deer was a spike that had been running around their stand but were pleasantly surprised when they walked up on the deer.

Un happy reader

I don't even know why you put a place to comment in most of your articles because you don't post any of them unless there yours or your friends. Your pictures are good but your articles [blanking] suck. Quit trying to go for quantity and go for quality. I've tried on a number of occasions to congrat people on there kills and nothing gets posted and i've also talked to other people that have experienced the same. I've even made good arguments on some stuff and nothing but your friends gets theres. I know this won't get posted because of the word [blank] but this message is for you and nobody else. Your articles suck i don't know how you call yourself a writer the only reason i look at them is to see the deer and turkey's killed in the area. Be a little more reader friendly [blanker].

Actually, expletives don't bother me. I just edit them out so I can keep this thing in the PG-13 realm. (It would be PG if it weren't for the blood and guts.)

The fact the you made up a fake e-mail address would be reason enough to not approve your comment. But I do want to address a couple of your points.

First, I'm truly concerned if you've tried to comment previously and it hasn't gotten through.

I promise you, I welcome every comment I get.

I will say this. Our SPAM filter on comments is tough. Every single submitted comment, even mine, ends up in the "Junk Comments" folder along with dozens of ads for porn sites and fake Rolex watches. Every once in a while that "Junk Comments" area is surprisingly empty, which leads me to believe one of the other administrators is helping clean it up. I hope they aren't just blasting everything, and I plan to look into it to make sure.

In the meantime, has anyone else not had a comment approved? If so, please let me know either by commenting or by sending me an e-mail. (The address is on the main blog page.)

Second, the assertion that I'm posting pictures of friends and no one else is just crazy. Are some of these pictures of friends? Sure. Like me, they like to hunt and fish and they send me pictures. But if someone sends me a shot, I do my best to post it, whether or not I know the person. I'm not saying every shot I get makes it up here. But I do my best to get them all up.

That said, if anyone has sent a shot over a week ago and it's not up, let me know and I'll try to figure out what happened.

Thanks for reading, everyone.
