BacklashMark have you heard the Crappie report on Claytor Lake?
Also met Blane of Blue Ridge Flyfishers in Roanoke, A very nice person and he can get most Float Tubes and pontoon boats accessories in a lot faster time than other places.
His attitude is greatly appreciated than going to "Dicks" in Roanoke a smile and warm greeting will get you more customers than the stern look of agitation.

Mark TaylorBacklash,
Last week the report from Claytor was that crappie fishing was good. They are up on the banks in the brush.

BacklashFished Claytor Lake 4-08-08 water temp was 62 to 63 degrees at 5 and 7ft around boat dock area.
No visible crappie schools near brush or man made structure as of 4-08-08.
Caught 2 nice Largemouth's very respectable using artificial brown crayfish lure near "no boating buoys".
The time of this excursion between 5 and 7 PM. I hope this information proves useful.

Mark TaylorThanks for the report, Backlash, and congrats on the nice bass.
You had 3-08-08 as the date in your original post but I changed it to April because March 8 didn't make sense.
I'm a little surprised you didn't see any sign of crappies around brush if the water was reasonably clear. Keep trying because they should be moving up into the brush well over the next couple of weeks.

BacklashThis is directed to the father and son throwing rocks yesterday in The New River while I fished.
Each man should respect the boundaries of others while fishing, to throw rocks directly in the water or to be disruptive to your fellow man while at his leisure is going beyond rude. To take it one step further to engage in such a way should I say childish manner with your child at your side is just below childish.
Being New to the area and I would like to be clear on this subject to act it such a way is the reason people are provoked to calling the police or resort to other means to solve resolutions. If it were not for individuals like you there would be no need for a constabulary force to enforce standing laws.
With that said the next time you feel that motorcyclist carrying a 2 piece rod in reel in a back pack seems out of place to you consider your actions around impressionable minds, for you have taught your son a unneeded lesson on how to start trouble in the community.
Thanks for Corrections and time Mark have good day.
